You can get involved with the Police Authority through a number of ways, including volunteering, consultation and awards.
The details below show how you can get involved.
We run an Independent Custody Visiting Scheme, which sees volunteers go into police custody units to check on the welfare of detainees and the facilities they are kept in.
Throughout the year, we run a number of different surveys relating to a range of policing issues.
We hold a list of people who we contact and regularly ask questions about policing in South Wales. Register your details by clicking on the link below, and we will contact you asking for your views.
Every year, we run the Community Safety Volunteer awards, which highlights the work of volunteers who help to keep our streets safe – Our Communities “Shining Lights”.
The scheme provides an independent check on the condition and welfare of the police dogs and horses.
The Police Authority has a small amount of money available each year to give to local groups and charities who work in community safety.
